If you refuse to show empathy to those not like you, you are the person creating the tensions and divisions that frighten you.

If you deny others something because you fear losing it, you only guarantee you will lose it, either by having it taken from you, or by having to change your life so drastically to protect it that you can no longer enjoy it.

Share the world with those around you; lifeboat ethics only drown or starve everybody.
