a hatless hipster in the rain [poem]
a hatless hipster
stands on the corner
covered by rain
like a vast damp gray blanket
raindrops splatter off
the short hair on his scalp
run down his head
soak into his beard
he wears a hoodie
but doesn’t pull it up
knee length shorts
brightly colored socks
black retro style sneakers
soaked through and through
why is he there?
where is he going?
where did he come from?
what does he seek?
the light turns green
before I can ask him
these questions
