Reliving Childhood Memories As An Adult [FICTOID]
The elegantly dressed man showed his top hat to the security guards. An arrow poked clear through it.
“Security,” he said, “seems mighty lax.”
The guards looked at each other.
“The Dundersons,” said one.
“The Dundersons,” agreed the other.
“Who,” asked the elegantly dressed man, “are the Dundersons?”
“A nouveau riche couple who just moved into the building,” said the first guard.
“Lottery winners, actually,” said the second guard.
“They’re trying to relive their childhoods,” said the first.
“It calls for a big adjustment around here,” said the second.
At that moment a loud shriek came from the parking lot and the Dundersons raced past the guards and the elegantly dressed man.
She dressed like a South Seas maiden with a seashell necklace and flowers in her hair that left a fragrance in the air; he wore knee boots, shorts, an open shirt, an eyepatch, and an elaborate hat from the golden age of piracy. The hook for his hand was genuine, however.
“Leave me alone, you selfish bastard! I’ll never share my saltines with you!” she screamed.
Her husband chased her around the security desk once - twice - thrice then they charged into the building.
“Are they always like that?” the elegantly dressed man asked.
“Oh, no. They do lots of stuff,” said the first guard. “Last week they had a slumber party in the lobby.”
“Problem is, they sleep in the nude,” said the second guard.
